Going Back

At this time a year ago, I was in Kampala, Uganda, working for Engineering Ministries International. Through this wonderful experience, and since my return to the states this past summer, God has expanded my heart for the nations, specifically Uganda.

In a month, I will be graduating from Kansas State University with a Master’s Degree in Architecture. I will be returning as a volunteer intern to the same office I served in last year.
I will leave almost immediately after graduation, on May 22, and will live and work in the city of Kampala until mid-July. During the beginning of my internship, I will travel on a short mission trip to northern Uganda to help design a community center for the Ugandan American Partnership Organization (UAPO, www.theuapo.org).

God is using this ministry to make an impact for Him, and through His grace, I have this opportunity to be involved. I am excited that I will be able to serve God and help others, while working alongside professionals that share my same passions for design and for God.
Pray for me, that I would come closer to God through this experience, that I would be bold in sharing my faith, and pray for the continuing impact of EMI. Also, pray for the people in Uganda, that God would move their hearts and reveal himself to them.

God has given me a heart for Africa’s people, and living in and engaging in relationships throughout the region only makes my heart grow more. There is more work to be done in Africa that I want to help complete. I also want to continue the relationships I started, see things that have changed in the area, and live out God’s calling for my life.
